Third World solidarity It stands for justice, peace and democracy both in individual countries and between states.
Third World Solidarity believes that even complex disputes can and must be resolved without recourse to armed conflict. it stands for equality of nations and peoples, the democratization of international relations, for the elimination of poverty and the right development.
Third World Solidarity stands opposed to all violations of human rights, particularly those perpetrated on grounds of race, religion, creed, class or gender. The organisation opposes extremism and terrorism of any kind, whether perpetrated by state or non-state actor, and stands for harmony, tolerance and diversity.
Third World Solidarity is a sovereign body independent of any government. However, the organisation will seek to work constructively with any government where its policies and activities accord with or are complimentary to the aims set out by this Mission Statement.
Third World Solidarity will seek to lobby, encourage and positively challenge those governments which waver or hold back in the face of these goals.
Third World Solidarity will not hesitate to campaign against governments where their polices and actions run counter to our basic principles.
Third World Solidarity is a democratic organisation, which encourages the maximum participation by its members. Its membership is open to all those able and willing to subscribe to this Mission Statement, irrespective of their nationality, political party of religious belief.
Third World Solidarity seeks cooperation and partnership with similar or complimentary or institution with similar or complimentary aims and objectives. |
